It’s the start of a New Year and a time when people think about the year ahead. For those of us who care about someone with Rett syndrome and want to make a difference to Reverse Rett it’s also a time when we start to think about taking on a challenge or holding an event.
That’s why on Thursday 11th January at 1pm I’ll be holding my first ‘Art of Fundraising’ workshop via Zoom.
I began fundraising in 1999 after my nephew died of cot death. Since my daughter, Beth was diagnosed with Rett syndrome in 2002 I’ve done a minimum of two fundraising challenges a year and I’d like to share some of the things I’ve learnt along the way for people feeling daunted by doing their first fundraiser and for those who are feeling fatigued by constantly asking for support and need some new ideas and a fresh approach.
I’ll also have some special guests alongside me who will share their very different approaches to raising money for Reverse Rett in honour of their daughters.
