When: Wednesday 14 August 2024, 7pm to 7.30pm
Who: Parents of a VI child
Location: Online
Cost: Free
Closing date: Friday 9 August 2024

Alex Cockerham and Faye Dale, part of the Performance Pathway team at Goalball UK, will introduce to parents both the recreational and performance pathways into goalball for young people with a vision impairment.

As well as an introduction to the sport of goalball, Alex and Faye will talk parents through the set up of the Goalball Academy including its six key values: confidence, listening, teamwork, honesty, trust and respect.

They will share the journeys of previous Goalball Academy participants from attending residential camps all the way through to representing GB U19s at the European Para Youth Games.

Parents will also hear from current players on the performance pathway about their experience and what difference goalball has made to them.

There will also be details on how to find and get involved in your nearest goalball club.

At the end, there will be a Q&A section, with the whole session useful for parents looking for information on how to get their VI child into goalball.
