The charity states that in the past decade there has been little change in the number of disabled people who are employed. Their new report (PDF) makes it clearer than ever the need to re-imagine work for those wanting to join the workplace.
This doesn’t have to mean big adjustments. It could mean an employer being flexible with working hours or providing a bit of extra support for a new recruit.
Disabled people face challenges at many different stages in the workplace, from recruitment to promotion. But it shouldn’t be this way. Their Untapped Talent campaign is calling for innovative and ambitious thinking to break down the barriers stopping disabled people reach full potential.
