Disabled people in London still fall a long way behind the rest of the workforce in accessing and retaining jobs.
And this is the situation despite the UK economy having a good record in job creation. The gap between the employment rate for those with a disability and those without is stuck at around 27 percent.
The London Assembly Economy Committee has published a snapshot report ‘Tackling The Disability Employment Gap’ which highlights the barriers to work for disabled people and shows what a modern employer should be doing to recruit, retain and develop disabled employees.
