CALLING ALL ADULT SIBLINGS!

From ‘Sibs’

Calling all adult siblings!

“There’s so many things you’re not supposed to say are you…” Sibling 2017

Susan Betts

Susan Betts is a theatre maker and writer, and over the next few months she will be writing a verbatim play about being the sibling of someone with a learning disability and or autism.  A verbatim play uses people’s real words to create the script. Over December and January 2022 she will be interviewing siblings so their actual words can create the script: the good, the bad, and the funny.

So, if you are, or were, a sibling to someone with a learning disability, are 18 or over (no upper age limit) and would like to participate please email Sue on sabetts16@gmail.com.

The first draft of the play will be shared online, as part of National Siblings Day, to an invited audience of the sibling interviewees, friends and family, and the agencies that support them. The second sharing will be a performed public reading at Queen’s Hall Arts, Hexham Northumberland in June 2022. It is hoped that this will lead to a touring production.
