THE BRAKE’S KIDS WALK – JUNE 22nd

On 22 June 2022, we are expecting more than 90,000 schoolchildren from over 600 schools to take part in one of our biggest events yet! Sign up today to access all you need to make it a fun and successful event for your school or youth group.

WHAT RESOURCES CAN I ACCESS ONLINE?

  • Planning your walk
  • Assembly plans and activity sheets to help you talk about road safety
  • Tell other people what you are doing – share on social media and contact your local press
  • Fundraise for Brake
  • Celebrate your success

There’s full guidance on how to take part in Brake’s Kids Walk, including a handy checklist for organisers, and posters that you can print out to tell people about your fundraising activity too. Everything is brightly illustrated and features the popular Shaun the Sheep characters by Aardman.

New this year is the Kids’ manifesto for safe and healthy journeys, this will help you ask your local authority or MP to make changes to protect children when they are walking or cycling.

WHAT IS BRAKE’S KIDS WALK?
In short, it is a supervised walk for schoolchildren to share important road safety messages and speak up for their right to make safe and healthy journeys.

WHY IS BRAKE’S KIDS WALK SO IMPORTANT?
Children of all ages are at risk of being hurt or killed when walking near roads. On average, six children are killed or seriously injured on roads in Britain every day – that’s equivalent to a whole classroom of children every week.

Sign up to Brake’s Kids Walk and join us in sharing important road safety messages.
