THE DAME EVELYN GLENNIE FOUNDATION

Dame Evelyn Glennie was a judge in our poetry competition and we are pleased to note that her Foundation has now received charitable status.

Our mission is to Teach the World to Listen: to facilitate inclusion, transformation and empowerment through musical creativity, participation, collaboration, advocacy and research in both educational and community contexts. The promotion of active listening and the development of communication skills are our main objectives.

Our vision is to support and provide initiatives designed to enable everyone to become expert listeners, sound creators and innovators.

Initial activities have included: Loaning the Glennie Concert Aluphone to Homerton College, Cambridge, as part of their 2023 Composing Competition and beyond.

Hosting a Create workshop for some Young Carers as part of the Art: Space Cambridge project.

We are also collaborating with Eagle Vs Bat, the wonderful team behind The Sound Collector, and are looking forward to a collaborative event in London with them in May.
