DIANA ELIZABETH JORDAN – AN ACTRESS WHO’S THE PERFECT EXAMPLE OF RESILIENCE!

Diana Elizabeth Jordan – Actor, Speaker, Artist Educator and Artivist

Diana Elizabeth Jordan is a living example of resiliency. Diagnosed with cerebral palsy (which mildly affects her speech and gait) around age two, she grew up with a tenacious determination to not let adversity stand in the way of achieving her dreams.

Diana was the first actress with a disability to obtain a ‘Masters of Fine Arts’ in Acting from California State University Long Beach. She also holds certificates in Occupational Therapy, Social Emotional Arts and is studying drama therapy. An award winning actress, she has been cast for over 50 plays, films and television and is a member of SAG-AFTRA and Actors  Equity Association. She is also a producer, director, writer and the creative artistic director of The Rainbow Butterfly Cafe, and EduTainment Production Company.

Diana is a nationally recognised thought leader on disability inclusion in the entertainment industry and has been featured in numerous articles, books and academic papers. Her 10 tools for Cultivating Resiliency are included in the soon to be published ‘Healing Our Sisters’ by Janine Conway.

She uses her powerful one woman shows (as a dynamic alternative to a traditional keynote address) and expressive arts workshops to celebrate multicultural inclusion and disability intersectionality, cultivating resilience, triumphing over adversity and to foster personal growth and professional development.

Whether portraying a character, sharing a personal story or facilitating a workshop, Diana touches the hearts of audiences with her humour, creativity, vulnerability and honesty

Diana likes to joke she was meant to be an actress because she entered the world in high dramatic fashion. Her doctors worked on her for 45 minutes before she started breathing on her own.

Whether portraying a character in one of her shows, sharing one of her personal stories (ranging from being mainstreamed to how she pro-actively manages her anxiety and depression) or in performance lectures or facilitating one of her custom designed expressive arts workshops, Diana always connects with her audiences.
