MHF LIVE! – RAISING AWARENESS, RAISING MONEY & RAISING THE ROOF!

MHF Live: What is it and why are they are doing it!

Disability Talk recently had the privilege of meeting Hannah Currie – the one woman dynamo who is behind the launch of MHF Live. The Mental Health Foundation’s drive to raise awareness about mental health issues through music.

As Hannah told us, “We’ve been working on something exciting and we’re thrilled to announce the launch of MHF Live, our brand new music fundraising initiative!”

Hannah wants UK wide support. She states, “MHF Live encourages our supporters to host music events that challenge perceptions, make connections and promote positive mental health – all whilst raising funds for the important work of the Mental Health Foundation.”

She wants you to be part of a UK wide movement of music, fans and musicians who are working towards a world with good mental health for all.

She added, “Even if you’ve never hosted an event before, we have everything you might need in our free event park including lots of ideas and insider MHF Live events can cover any kind of music on any scale – from a band night in a local venue to a mixtape listening party at home. You could host an event at your school, workplace, community group or student union .. the possibilities are endless!”

Please join me, Rita Ora, to raise money for the Mental Health Foundation

“By signing up to MHF Live,” Hannah says, “you’ll be enjoying a nationwide network of musicians and music fans across the UK working towards a world with good mental health for all. That includes chart-topping pop star Rita Ora plus bands like Enter Shikari, PAWS, The XCERTS, The VanTs, Be Charlotte and many many more.”

We asked Hannah how you can get involved. This, in her own words, is how you can do it.

“We’re proposing that MHF Live events officially take place from 1st to the 14th of February 2019. This should give most people time to get organised. But don’t worry if these dates don’t work for you. You can hold your MHF Live event at any time of the year and we’ll be happy to support you.”

“And if you have any questions you can give us a call on 0207 803 1123 or email us at events@mentalhealth.org.uk – and if you would like to download a free event pack just click below.”
